Settlements Service
This settlement services provider in the City of London had begun to use the services of a bespoke software supplier. The Supplier had suddenly raised the price substantially and the Client wanted help to control the project better. Lilley Information Systems (LIS) analysed the problem by meeting with the Settlements Manager, Accountant, Settlement Clerks and Supplier. LIS found that the Supplier's documentation and methods were poor, making it difficult for the Client to understand and control the project. In particular, the Supplier was designing the database before they had defined what was needed to be output from it. LIS explained the shortcomings to the Client, who was then able to exert more control over the project.
